Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, CON, represented Niger North Senatorial District in the 8th and 9th Senate, where he served as Deputy Chief Whip and Chairman of the Niger State Caucus. In the 8th Senate, he was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs and the Senate’s Spokesman, a notable achievement for a first-term senator. A staunch advocate for education and human capital development, he sponsored over 100 bills and motions, including the Federal University of Education Bill, 2020, which became law in December 2021. Abdullahi holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from ABU-Zaria and has pursued various management certifications. He was awarded the national honor of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) in October 2022 and appointed Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security by President Bola Tinubu on August 21, 2023.
